It’s hard to believe that last weekend we were mulching up thousands of fallen leaves with the lawnmower and closing up the garden, and this weekend we’re getting hit with a snowstorm.
Winter came early this year. The very first snowfall actually stuck to the ground, which I don’t think has happened for as long as I’ve been on the planet. And now, they’re predicting 6-10 inches of snow to fall before tomorrow morning.
I’m sitting cozy by the woodstove right now, with my kitty next to me, my pupper on the floor, snoozing away, and books and art supplies surrounding me. I’m a happy camper.
The chickens are faring well in this cold, snowy weather. I check on them several times a day to bust up the ice forming on their water fount and feed them some feel-good treats. They’re really loving Grubblies these days, which is good because they help them get through their nasty molts!
Can you imagine being half naked outside on a 30 degree day?! Poor little things. Luckily they have a cozy coop to hang out in on days like this!
I hope you’re all faring well, whether the wintery weather has hit you yet or not!
