Things are getting a little better around here. I’m slowly gaining some time back in my life as the baby now lets me put him down here and there. I’m making sure to work drawing into my daily life, even though it’s really not structured and still very rushed. I’m trying not to guilt myself about not being perfect with these practice drawings because I have a lot going on right now, and they are indeed just practice. I’m not by any means doing this professionally and I need to keep perspective that it’s just for fun and to grow my skills.
6/24: Day 67
I really love this little drawing. I never really thought to add little monsters next to big ones but now that I have, look out world! I like the simplicity of this drawing but it has a lot of personality too. These two look like they’re going on epic adventures together.

6/25: Day 68
This guy reminds me so much of one of the monsters from ‘Ah Real Monsters!’ on Nickelodeon. I loved that show as a kid and I think it worked its way into my subconscious.

6/26: Day 69
This one is clearly very similar to yesterday’s. I like the snail eye concept and wanted to play with it a little more.

6/27: Day 70
Man, I’ve been so shaky with my drawings for awhile now. I think I lost a lot of control in the time I spent not drawing.

6/28: Day 71
I’m working on actively trying to include darker shades and more ink on my drawings. I always like how they turn out when I shade things in deeply but it’s not in my nature to do so. I’ve always favored drawing lightly and delicately. I’m going to work on boldness as much as I can.

6/29: Day 72
Wow this dude is creepy. I’ve had a real thing for pig snouts lately. I really wanted to play with line a lot in this one, and mission accomplished I think!
